Bach Bwv 1001 Presto Guitar Pdf Sheet

Here at the Delcamp, last year I have opened an interesting discussion on transcribing the Suite No. 6 in D minor by S.L. Weiss from lute to guitar. This time I'm gonna talk about Bach. I find it very interesting topic to discuss about transcribing Bach from violin to guitar.

Here is my recording of the First Sonata for Solo Violin BWV 1001. As you can see I related as close to the original violin manuscript as possible. This is the most obvious in the Fuga, because there also exist the lute score which is two bars longer than the violin version. My interest here was to relate to the violin score, so I almost ignored the lute version, which is preferred to play by the most guitarists, and the result is quite different sounding Fuga, because I didn't add so much unnecessary bass notes and I have leaved some phrasings as they are in the violin score.

There is also Presto where I did the same thing. Of course there are excellent recordings from Galbraith or Smith where they have put some really extra basses and other additional voices in the score, but I decided to mainly leave the score as Bach wrote it. In Presto there is mainly just one written voice, but we hear them more, because the genius of Bach. If we put extra basses here, we have lost original Bach ideas in my opinion.

- BWV 1001 Sonata No. 1 in G minor (COMPLETE). Post by Paul Janssen » Mon Jun 09, 2014 10:58 am. Very nice William. I especially liked the fourth movement (the Presto). It's one of my favourite's Bach pieces. Well done also on achieving first class honours!!

And another point:I think the guitarist who plays any work of Bach should listen to its performance on the original instrument first and then go on guitar. Because guitar isn't solo melodic instrument like violin, flute etc. We pluck the tone and then it start to dissapearing if you know what I mean. So often we guitarists are missing some points in our interpretations, especially in phrasing melodies. Singing also helps:) Fell free to add comment on my work. I have really enjoyed it.

The score is on my website Marko Z. Thanx to all for great comments and replies.

The video making was a bit problem beacuse I did it all by my own, that means I worked with just a tripod and Nikon D90 and it would be boring to have just one scene all the time so I played with editing. Visual Foxpro 6 0 Ebook Pdf Png there. :):) Anyway, I know there are now a lot of guitarists who take seriously playing Bach and also play this Sonata transcribed from Violin score. There are still many open questions.

Like for example: Play one phrase campanella or not? Add some bass notes or leave the phrase as it is?

Because of that neverending searching for the best transcription maybe the Bach is even more interesting for playing.
